Angela's Corner

Donors, family, members of the media, and staff came together for the grand opening of Angela’s Corner in the Youth/Child Inpatient Mental Health Unit. The reading nook is a special corner inside the unit for kids to relax with a favourite book.

Angela Morrison was just 18 years old when she lost her battle with depression. In her memory, her co-workers at Boston Pizza Prince Albert and a colleague of her father’s, Lyle Karasiuk, came forward with donations in her memory to make a trans-formative change. The Victoria Hospital Foundation, in partnership with RNF Ventures, Ashly Cabinets, ET Flooring, Unique Contract Interiors and Finxi Art (Birgit Raduenz), brought the project to life.

The artwork features many images and quotes that were meaningful to Angela.
Her family hopes that if just one child can find comfort in this space and be able to open up, they can find some peace in that.
